Report in some way (with a different color, bold, italics, etc.) in the integrated file browser files already added to the compilation.
Especially useful when creating CDs with MP3 files (to add new files to an old compilation easier).6 votes

Include a disc check function to test source-data discs for errors, read speed, list file statistics, bad clusters, unreadable files, etc.6 votes
Would like the ability to edit POSIX permissions when creating a UDF disc. The ability to right click a file and "Set POSIX Permissions" in the compilation window would be ideal. A change in the default permissions or a way to change them would work for now. Currently, all files are created with 444 permissions (read). We compile discs for usage on Unix systems using your software and would like the ability to set certain files executable. An ability to set files to 555 (read/execute) or changing the default is needed. Thanks!6 votes
Show more size info to facilitate fitting stuff in
Show sizes of:
- folders in top pane
- stuff selected in either pane
Then there would be less "trying out" (adding, deleting) to see if it fits onto a CD or DVD.
I suppose this could be an option so slower machines could have it turned off.5 votes
As it stands right now, creating a compilation (naturally) opens every single file in the compilation, but also seems to keep them all open. This is a problem when the files live on a network share, because Windows-compatible network file systems like Samba have limits to the number of files that can be open at one time. When you hit this limit, the drive goes offline and has to be remounted.
I suppose this is probably a performance optimization, but it is also a bug; it should at least be possible to disable it.4 votes
This is an issue known for quite a while and doesn’t really belong here. However, StarBurn informed me that they are currently working on this, so I marked this as “started” now. ETA: A few weeks according to them. (Based on past experiences, rather expect a couple of months.)
Please add option to "force" (a pop-up?) you to write disc titles to CDA-disc before burning. Always forgetting to add title, resulting black field on my cars cd-list...4 votes
When using disk spanning, automatically create a unique label for each disk. It should be meaningful. Maybe support a $disk variable (with 0 padding and auto sizing by number of disks) so the user can revert to the current method if preferred (by not using $disk) and can decide where to put the disk count in the created name (e.g., MyLabel or MyLabel_$disk or D$disk-MyLabel).4 votes
currently if a new device is plugged in (e.g. external CD burner) after CD burner starts it doesn't seem to detect it.
Click on Create ISO from opening option.
Plug in external CD burner,
Cancel options page,
Open options page and under choose device the new device isn't there.
On reopening th eoptions for burning page it should possibly do a check for a new device.
While it isn't a biggie ti is annoying to have to restart CDBurnerXP in order to detect new devices.4 votes
Allow for more customization when printing the cover. For instance music CD's I do not want to print a date always.
It would be good to be able to turn off the date when printing the cover. Also being able to change the font to a different Windows TTF font would be nice.4 votes
A simple option that will limit the displayed percentage of completion to a single line with 5 values displayed: <newLine> 0% 25% 50% 75% 100% <newline>
This will assist in applications and batch files that automate using the cmdline large number of disks.4 votes
Artist must insert ISRC into CD in order to track usage of their media.
Some Recorders like nero do this and it's usefull for some artist that must make their onw media to be replicated.4 votes
When adding many files/folders to the compilation, it makes no sense to have more files in the compilation than can fit on the disk. Stop adding files after the complication size exceeds the inserted disk size.
It should be relatively easy to do. But will be a big help for me archiving photos.4 votes
Hello, i have an script that uses cdburnerxp to burn, but if i use >> to write a log i can't see what is happening in the cmd box, but i want to see in both sides.
is this possible?
also it's interesting for me to have a verbose mode to see what directory ( in tree) or files are going to burn
PD: sorry for bad english and thank you for such a great program3 votes
include more options in the spanning mode, like "Copy files in alphabetic order", "Copy files in date / reverse date order"
Useful for archiving3 votes
I think there should be some additional options in the print tracklist option.. like editing what should be printed such as 'track names only' and orientation i.e. Landscape; portrait3 votes
Currently (latest version .7128) there is no indication which copy is being burnt or verified. It would be great to show this in Title section and in the log (both Burn and Verify).
Thank you.3 votes
Hey! Could the program get a feature that could write a long name for a burnable disc, for example: Windows 10 32 bit Finnish
I think it is very necessary3 votes
My pc has 2 plextor drives.
So i love to use the copy disc function, with a source disc in 1 drive and a blank destination disc in the other drive, at the same time.
(but not in "on the fly" mode)
Therefor, just like in nero 6.6, please make it able to run a verify after doin a cd or dvd copy.
Thanks so much! (x3)
