  1. Allow files open in CDBurnerXP to be deleted

Unlike Nero, files can't be deleted or renamed in Explorer once open in CDBurnerXP causing no end of headaches. Program also cannot handle as long filenames as Explorer resulting in some files added to be burned to seen as duplicates.

    • cd-text - ask before burning to add disc title/artis

Please add option to "force" (a pop-up?) you to write disc titles to CDA-disc before burning. Always forgetting to add title, resulting black field on my cars cd-list...

        • make use of "archive" file attribute

How about options to make use of the "archive" file attribute?
          * reset the attribute of files that have been burned (so one can easily check what files have changed since the last burn session)
          * filter for easily adding files to a data compilation that have this attribute set, obeying directory tree (so one can easily burn the changed files - and only those)

This would be useful for stuff like incremental backup.

          • Limit lenght of disc labels fields

CDBurnerXP should limit ability of user to add more characters in disc labels fields than it is allowed by either ISO 9660/Joliet or UDF specification, because currently you can add as much characters as you want and this confuses users when disc name is cut-off.

            • parameter to write logs to txt

Hello, i have an script that uses cdburnerxp to burn, but if i use >> to write a log i can't see what is happening in the cmd box, but i want to see in both sides.
              is this possible?
also it's interesting for me to have a verbose mode to see what directory ( in tree) or files are going to burn

PD: sorry for bad english and thank you for such a great program

              • to compare the reported drive capabilities with values reported by ImgBurn

when comparing actual outputs of ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP it looks like some useful or "new" items are missing for CDBurnerXP.

                • Command line disc spanning

I have clients using a simple shortcut on their desktop to write a DVD using the CDBurnerXP command line - it makes life easy for them. The issue is when the data increases past the size of the media and the Command Line version has no "-span" option to allow disc spanning as the GUI version does.

Could you please add a disc spanning option to the command line.

                    • Allow filenames longer than 127 chars in UDF file system

As I had to note CDburnerXP allows only filenames up to 127 chars (=127 Unicode chars with two bytes) when burning them onto an UDF file system based media.

UDF however does not necessarily require UniCode as encoding charset. "Normal" ANSI could be used as well.

So CDburnerXP restricts the UDF feature without being forced.

I think implementing filename burning with UDF and filenames up to 254 real chars should be easy to implement.

                      • Please Add Support for Direct to Disk Printing

Specifically, I’d love to see support for Canon’s Direct Disk Print.
                        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICGWeK-K0cE

Epson also offers a similar feature.
                        https://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/CDLanding.jsp

I’m not particularly interested in fancy graphics, I just need a user specified title, date the disk was burned, listing of files on disk and possibly a media type identification logo to distinguish CDs from DVDs from BDs.

                        • Enhance the print options

The print preview shows track numbers and titles correctly but the track duration is not fully displayed, eg. 00:01.... or 00:00... My attempts to overcome this problem have been futile. I suspect that it is due to a given paper format which is not or scarcely used in European countries.

                          • Improve Polling Checks (checking for an empty disc/DVD/media)

Currently it is often that an empty disc inserted into a drive will be not detected until the "Target device for the burning process" selection box is changed when you have more than one drive.

In summary improving the accuracy of optical burner drive statuses would be great for when burning one disc after another.

                              • inverse sorting data

For triple layer Blurays and longer storage times it is useful to have the possibility to put on one BD the beginning files on the first layer (of the triple layer) and on a second BD the ending files on the first layer (of the triple layer). This inverse sorting might be by button or by menu.
                                Thanks.

My pc has 2 plextor drives.
So i love to use the copy disc function, with a source disc in 1 drive and a blank destination disc in the other drive, at the same time.
(but not in "on the fly" mode)

Therefor, just like in nero 6.6, please make it able to run a verify after doin a cd or dvd copy.

                                  Thanks so much! (x3)

                                  • Verify Audio Disk Burns

When you burn an audio CD, and lets say you have a bad disk, you can burn a coaster, and not even be warned. To my knowledge, every other major burning software out there, with the exception of Windows itself and Sony's CD Architect, verifies an audio disk when burnt. I run a small recording studio. If I give a customer a disk that I'm not sure is a coaster or not, I am risking looking like an amateur. Why is audio and music discriminated against here, whereas one can indeed verify Data CD's after writing?

                                    • Support recovery of windows errors that prevent CDBurnerXP from completing.

When Windows initiates an error that causes CDBurner to shutdown it would be very useful to have the ability to restart a burn session. All selected files should be automatically saved along with any information CDBurnerXP generates for spanned disk to be used for a recovery session. To be able to recover by restarting on for example disk 3 of a 7 disk spanned set and then continue through all remaining disk to be burned in normal fashion.

                                      • Add the .ts file format for burning video discs

I can burn a DVD video disk in HD or SD but only with "Burn Data Disk" option (first one) not with "Burn DVD Video" (second one). Without using TSDoctor even "Burn Data Disk" might be a bit of a problem because often a missing header is reported. I use a TBS satellite card as well as a DrHD D15 receiver and an Openbox S2 HD for recording.

                                        • Stop adding files past disk size limit

When adding many files/folders to the compilation, it makes no sense to have more files in the compilation than can fit on the disk. Stop adding files after the complication size exceeds the inserted disk size.
It should be relatively easy to do. But will be a big help for me archiving photos.
