  3. It would be really nice if CDBurnerXp would have one, just line in Nero Burning ROM. I miss this feature from the past!

  6. As you can see here,
    http://cdburnerxp.se/help/Data/create-video-dvd
    (v. 4.3.8 and older)
The old style recording allowed us to add extra folders, besides AUDIOTS and VIDEOTS.

Now in the new style (v. 4.3.9 and later), when i add a AUDIOTS and VIDEOTS and some other folders.. in "Data disc" mode I don't even have a way to ask for DVD-Video....

I usually record DVD-Videos with some extra content only available in PC/Mac, but dvd's are meant to be played in standard DVD-players

Please bring old options back (you can do it without replacing the new one)

  7. I'd like to request a feature to separately verify a data disc.

The feature would be most useful to:
    1) Verify the immediate write quality.
    2) Detect future disc data loss, corruption, defects, and media aging. I want to know the quality of my data over time.

Currently the application supports verification after a write. But I also want to verify my data writes in the future, and I want to perform a verification only.

I'm not sure of the best way. Maybe CDBurnerXP performing the same type of verification it currently does, but allows the verification to be performed…

  9. Hello,

I would like to see an "exclude Joliet" button at the data system section. Because some car CD players have problems with it. We need the possibility of burning ISO 9660 Level 2 without Joliet/UDF.

As with https://forum.cdburnerxp.se/topic/9217-how-do-i-burn-a-cd-in-iso-mode-not-joliet/?hl=joliet this is not possible at the moment.

    Best regards,

    Norbert

  11. When you burn an audio CD, and lets say you have a bad disk, you can burn a coaster, and not even be warned. To my knowledge, every other major burning software out there, with the exception of Windows itself and Sony's CD Architect, verifies an audio disk when burnt. I run a small recording studio. If I give a customer a disk that I'm not sure is a coaster or not, I am risking looking like an amateur. Why is audio and music discriminated against here, whereas one can indeed verify Data CD's after writing?

  12. When automatically distributing files among multiple discs, it should be possible to preview the contents of the individual discs before burning or exporting them. Since there are different spanning strategies available, one could compare the strategies like this.

  13. I know this has been asked for before on the old request forum, and you've said it's a limit imposed by the burning library and posted a link to their comment http://www.starburnsoftware.com/forum/post7915.html#p7915, but that post dates from 2004 -- is it possible to ask them again?

Other CD burning software (Nero & Roxio) can write much longer CD-Text, so presumably there's no underlying reason for this not to be possible.

  14. I'm using the disc spanning feature for backup purposes. I like it because I can burn the files as they are without repacking them. For long-term archiving this is the best method because:
    1. Repacking files relies on availabiliy and compatibility of the software used
    2. When loosing some sectors of data (might happen for any media), the repacked data might be completely lost when a part is missing

The feature I'd like to have is to fill the last (usually not full) disc with parity data for data recovery. Optionally to even burn additional disc(s) just with parity data.…

  16. When burning CD, there are several options including automatically shutting down the PC after completion. It would be really nice if there is an option to automatically quit the CDBurnerXP but not shutting down the PC. This will be helpful when a series of different CDs have to be burned one by one.

  17. Split and burn, that would make CAD backups so much portable. Each file sometimes goes up to 6 GB. If only I could split that on to 2 DVDs!

  18. I have clients using a simple shortcut on their desktop to write a DVD using the CDBurnerXP command line - it makes life easy for them. The issue is when the data increases past the size of the media and the Command Line version has no "-span" option to allow disc spanning as the GUI version does.

Could you please add a disc spanning option to the command line.

  19. See also: https://forum.cdburnerxp.se/topic/9478-disc-information-expansion-including-for-other-drives/

Currently the "Disc Information" shows rather limited information and seems to also be limited to the active write-capable drive.

It would be great if the Disc Information dialog could show more information. Examples could include:

    * (1) ISO Volume Labels (perhaps including those beyond the 3 mentioned in the "set volume labels" dialog);

    * (2) Media identification information (similar to that provided by the "Read" or "Discovery" modes in ImgBurn--particularly the physical "Disc ID");
    * (3) Presence of a bridged/hybrid filesystem (e.g. to help identify issues related to the current lack of bridged filesystem support)

    Finally, please…

  20. As I had to note CDburnerXP allows only filenames up to 127 chars (=127 Unicode chars with two bytes) when burning them onto an UDF file system based media.

UDF however does not necessarily require UniCode as encoding charset. "Normal" ANSI could be used as well.

So CDburnerXP restricts the UDF feature without being forced.

I think implementing filename burning with UDF and filenames up to 254 real chars should be easy to implement.
